We explore new concepts for catalysis, material sciences and bioengineering
Welcome to the Rueping Research Group. We are a Catalysis, Materials Science and BioEngineering Laboratory. Our research activities are directed toward the development of new synthetic catalytic methodology and technology, and their application in the rapid synthesis of diverse functional natural and unnatural molecules, not only to address chemical, biological and physical problems but also to generate new molecules and materials with potentially interesting properties.
Our Mission
Science is evolving. Addressing global challenges in health, sustainability, energy, and advanced materials requires approaches that move beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries. Our group aims to:
Redefining how molecules and materials are created through efficient, selective, and sustainable catalytic technologies
Designing next-generation materials and catalysts that support clean-energy pathways and environmentally responsible processes
Bridge chemistry and biology to create engineered (bio)systems with new or improved functions
Turning fundamental discoveries into applications that matter
We follow a philosophy of integration, where synthesis methodology, advanced materials, and biological engineering are developed in concert to enable innovative and practical solutions with with the potential for broad scientific and societal impact.
